Grinding Process:

For polishing concrete surfaces, machines that are equipped with diamond segmented abrasives is employed. These machines help to grind down the concrete surfaces till the desired shine and smoothness is achieved.As the grinding process proceeds, the coarser grit moves to finer-grits. Grits here is defined as the particle size of the diamond. Most of the concrete grinding process starts from a value less than 100. The machines available in the market have grinding discs with different grits.

 

Sealing the floor:

After the concrete floor has been polished, a sealer is applied which enhances and preserves the finish and also acts as a final protection layer. There are several different sealants on the market and it also depends on the desired finish that you want to achieve. Certain sealants are specifically designed for industrial applications that increase abrasive resistance. Then there are also different ranges of sheen levels that determine which products to use.We suggest that an experienced applicator assist when making these decisions.

Epoxy

Epoxy flooring is a type of synthetic resin floor system that is laid on top of concrete substrates as a form of protection and decoration. The systems can comprise of several layers of thermosetting resin that are coated, trowelled or poured, and generally applied onto a concrete substrate. Once the resin layers completely cure, the floor system forms a strong and permanent bond, acting as an impervious and decorative barrier to protect the substrate.

Terrazo

Terrazzo flooring provides a colourful, decorative, durable and seamless flooring surface. This type of flooring is created with a mix of coloured cement and selected aggregates (such as marble, mother of pearl, glass, granite, etc). After setting the mixture, the flooring is ground and polished, exposing the aggregate and delivering a smooth, decorative and hard-wearing floor finish. Terrazzo floors are not just highly decorative and very durable, they only require simple maintenance and have an outstanding life expectancy (upwards of 40 years). This floor system is ideal for large commercial venues thanks to its aesthetics, durability and lifespan.

Cementiuos Finishes

 

Cementious floor and wall finish or coating is a cement-based product that provides a strong, durable finish that can be applied to an existing screed or over tiles. Suitable for floors & walls, finished with two layers of clear sealer  in either matte or gloss with a non-slip coating. The application is between 3-6mm thick. Colour cement applications can be used for interior or exterior purposes, applied on floors and walls, providing a strong, durable finish
